The 5th Annual Louisiana Sessions 2010

The tickets are booked and I am heading South to what I hope will be a little warmer weather.  After the multiple snow events in Louisiana this year I guess you never know!

I will be accepting reservations for a limited number of sessions between March 18 – March 29.  If you are interested, please call or email me ASAP to reserve your date.

Below are a few of the sessions from the 2009 trip.

Miss E ~ Long Island Baby Photographer

Miss E is a Year One baby and last week we did her 9 month session.  Oh what a sweet baby!  I get along quite well with my little clients but there are a few that make the session so easy.  Miss E is one of those.  She has a smile on her face as soon as she comes through the door.  If there are few tears, and let’s face it… a few tears are necessary sometimes, Miss E will shake it off and be back to her sweet funny smiley self in moments!  What a sweet little soul.

Miss E has two beautiful brothers on this earth and one in heaven and I just found out that there is a new sibling on the way!  Miss E will go from being little sister to big sister very soon!

Can’t wait to see you for your 1st birthday session!

Where Have I Been!!! ~ Long Island New York Photographer

I can’t believe it is mid Feburary and this is my first blog post of the year. I had promised to be better!  Well, it is certainly not because nothing is going on.  Quite the contrary!  I have been busy as a bee planning and plotting the new year.

This is my time of year to recharge creatively and I have been enjoying the freedom of time to play.  To shoot anything I want and to explore my ever evolving style.  It is so important to never stop growing.  After amost a decade of photographing the most beautiful people, I am still as excited about the possibilities in each session as I was 10 years ago.

So stay tuned and I promise to keep you posted on what is new at Stephanie Massey Photography!0030_tex_cosmo_32

Happy Holidays!

Rhea and Sophie waiting for Santa!

Oh how I have neglected my blog!!!  It has been an insane but wonderfully busy season and there just wasn’t time to keep the blog updated.  I will be posting past sessions in a year end wrap up at the first of the year.

Thanks to all of my readers and my sweet wonderful clients for making this a great year.  I wish you all peace, love and happiness during this holiday season and througout the year.  Stay tuned for exciting new products and session updates!

I will be taking some time off to spend with my family and a much needed rest.  The office will officially open again on the 11th of January.  Here’s to a great 2010!

Houston Sessions {New York/Houston Family Photographer}

I will be in Houston at the end of October for a limited number of sessions.  If you are interested, please contact the office.  We would love to see you there and hope to make this an annual event!

It’s That Time of Year Again {New York Family Photographer}

It is the busiest time of year and like time-work, my computer which has been a faithful partner for 3 years has started to act up.  Well this year my sweet wonderful parents bought a big new Dell for my birthday.  Thanks Mom and Dad!

I know, my photo friends are saying why not a Mac???  Well the Mac equivalent to my PC would cost me $5500 and another $1000 in software upgrades.  So the order was placed with Dell on the the 9th of Sept with a delivery date of the 17th.  Wonderful, except the delivery date was moved 3 times and then an email to say it was cancelled!  We replaced the order and then the delivery was the end of October!  That would not work.  Tried to cancel within 10 minutes of placing the order and was told this was impossible because it was in “production”.  Huh?  It is not to be delivered for a month, surely there should be some way of cancelling an order placed 10 minutes ago that is not supposed to ship for a month.  After speaking to at least 20 people the answer was the same, when the computer arrives call for a RMA number and we could then return it.  Of course you pay the shipping and a 15% restocking fee!  What has happened to Dell?  I have been a loyal customer for 10 years and feel totally betrayed by them.  Needless to say I will never buy anything from them again.  I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s office, BBB and the Consumer Trade Commission and will now move on.

We have just purchased an equivalent HP on Monday which shipped today, two days before they said!  Now that is the way to run a company.

So to all my sweet patient clients waiting for work from me, the nightmare is almost over and with this powerful new machine I should be able to be caught up very soon.  Thanks so much for your understanding in this saga and if you are buying a computer, beware of Dell!  They are not the company they used to be.

Sorry for the rant.  :)

The Genius and the Beauty {New York Children’s Photographer}

A sneak peek for the V family.  I had such a great time with these guys.  P, is in the second grade and a true genius.  He asked me how old I was (he can get away with this since he is only 7!) and then preceeded to tell me the year I was born and who was president at that time.  Amazing!

And little miss O is one of the dearest girls I have ever met.  She told me I had beautiful eyes!  How sweet is that.  Well, I think I might like to photograph these cuties everyday with that kind of treatment!

Your gallery will be up soon.

Another Year With the R Family {NY Children’s Photographer}

Oh how fast they grow!  This is the fourth year I have photographed these little cuties and I am always amazed how they change, and in some ways stay the same each year.  Last year we did our session at their beautiful home in Vermont but this year we decided to stay close to home.  Wherever we shoot, it is always a pleasure.  This year we also did a few shots of their crazy fun standard poodle, Pax.  See a few pics of him on the Woof blog.  Thanks R family for allowing me to document yet another year in you life.  Your gallery will be up very soon.

Sneak Peek For the F Family~ {NY Family Photographer}

This beautiful family won an auction for a session I donated to the Museum at Stony Brook Holiday Gala.  We have been trying to get together for months!  I am so glad that everything fell into place since K is off to college and this was our last chance to photograph the entire family before her departure.  I had a wonderful time with you guys and will have your online gallery up very soon.  And thanks for your support of the Museum.

Sneak Peek for the M Family {NY Family Photographer}

Milestones would be the key word for the M family.  Their beautiful daughter has just graduated from college, handsome son # 1 is off to one fo the best universities in the country and handsome son # 2 will be a junior in high school this year.  Mom thought it was time for a long overdue family photography session to mark this important time in their lives.  After some juggling we finally found a time that would work for this very busy family.  I had a great time with you M family and your online gallery will be available soon!
