Mr. G in Black and White {Long Island New York Baby Photographer}

I haven’t done a blog post entirely in black and white for quite a while.  When I first started to photograph children, I only used BW film.  It was a nice change from the vivid Fuji Velvia slide film that I would shoot for editorial garden photography.  When digital came along I started to show more color and more of my clients would choose color over black and white.  I happen to love both and would encourage you to think of choosing a  few images in black and white after your next session.

I miss the simplicity of black and white images and have been doing more and more personal work in BW.  This work can be seen @stephmasseyphoto on Instagram.  Black and white will always be classic, but can also feel fresh and modern.

I was delighted to have Mr. G’s mom contact me about a photo session and to learn that she prefers black and white!  So here you go mom, a few of my favorites in black and white of your beautiful baby boy!  Your gallery will be ready soon where you as always, will be able to see both color and black and white proofs.

What are your preferences?  Color or  BW? Let us know on our Facebook page.

The S Brothers {New York/Louisiana Child Photographer}

I had photographed the handsome Mr. L a few years ago during one of my annual Louisiana trips.  His little brother Mr. MH was not yet born.  Well L has gotten even more handsome if that is possible and MH is such a fun baby!  It was a totally pleasure to spend time with the family in the beautiful little town of Winnsboro.

The Newest Member of the P Family {Long Island Baby Photographer}

So happy to have Miss A in my studio a few weeks ago.  She is the newest of three of the most beautiful children.  See for yourself!

Mr. Blue Eyes {Long Island’s Baby Photographer}

What a beautiful baby boy!  Mr. B was a total joy to photograph.  He has tons of sweet personality and of course is cute as a bug’s ear.  We missed the 10 day window for newborn photographs because of the crazy busy time of year B was born.  We took these photographs at 2 months and I have to say, it was so much fun.  We didn’t get those curled up sleepy shots we get in our newborn sessions, but we did get those amazing blue eyes and the sweetest smiles.

So if you have missed that “newborn” window and thought you missed out on photographs while your baby is still “new”,  fear not, these results prove it is never too late!  B will be one our Year One babies so stay tuned to the next best time to have your baby photographed, when he is sitting up.  Love that age!  I love every age!  How could you not…

My Sweet Little Bean – The Louisiana Sessions {New York-Louisiana Family Photographer}

I usually do my Louisiana sessions in March or April so I can be home for my Mom’s birthday.  Last year we were just moving back to our rebuilt home after the fire so I went to Louisiana in November.  It was actually chilly which was a bonus since I am not a fan of hot and humid weather.

Miss A, who I have photographed every year since she was about 18 months old is growing up so fast!  My new nick name for her is now Little Bean.  She is now calling me Big Bean.  Oh how I love her and her gorgeous mom!  We did this session in the beautiful little town of Winnsboro where my sweet cousin now lives.  Such a charming place with a quaint little downtown.  Great place to shoot!  Check out A’s amazing hot pink Uggs!

I will be planning a Louisiana trip (maybe Houston too!) this spring.  If you are interested, get in touch with the studio so that we can keep you posted on our plans.

Only A Month Late!!! {Long Island’s Children Photographer}

Ok… This time I really promise!  The last post said that I would have the incredibly cute cousins of the S and H from that post up the next day.  Now many days from then I am finally keeping my promise!  I am going on a blog binge and will try to catch up with many  of the beautiful children you have not yet seen.  So here we go!

You have seen both of these cuties on the blog before.  Who can forget that wonderful fire engine red hair of B and the rosy cheeks of A .  These are the photos we took for their Christmas cards this year.  Enjoy!

Breathtaking! {Long Island Children’s Photographer}

I am officially the worst blogger in the world!  The truth is I am not crazy about blogging because I think I am a horrible writer.  One of my goals for the New Year is to fix this “issue”.  We are also always crazy here at this time of year, and getting the galleries up in a timely matter means we get way behind in blogging.  We promise to try to do better in the future.  I know, you have heard that before!

What better way to mend our ways than to present updated photos of long time stars here at SMP.  These two friends of mine have been living in heaven out west, so we don’t get to see them as much as we used to.  I am amazed at how fast they grow and how each time I see them they are even more beautiful!  They are so sweet you could eat them with a spoon!  I am from the South, we say things like that.

Watch for their beautiful cousin’s post tomorrow after I work with mom to choose images for the holiday card.  We don’t want you to see those captures until the card arrives!
