Sneak Peek ~ Baby Love

I ♥ babies!  What a sweet baby shoot I had today with Mr. C.  He was so much fun and seemed to love being photographed.  The camera sure loves him.  C’s sister was my first blog entry ever so it was great to include him here!  Just a sneak peak for Mom and Dad.  Your gallery will be up soon!

The Power of Giving – Wedding Photography by CHRIS LEARY

I will be doing a few more weddings this year as an associate photographer with my friend and wedding photographer extraordinaire Chris Leary.  Chris Leary Weddings/NYC is conducting a contest to give his services (and maybe mine as well!) to one lucky couple.

Here is the link http://www.chrislearyweddings.com/contest/ to Chris’s site and all of the info you need to participating in this contest.  Some lucky couple will win really fabulous wedding photography!  Spread the word to anyone you know getting married in the next 12 months.  Good luck!

An Experience of a Lifetime!

We are back from Washington and the inauguration celebration.  What an incredible experience to see so many people in such a good mood!  It really was amazing to see such a huge mass of humanity and feel the positive energy in Washington this week.

We went to a ball on Sunday night at the historic All Souls Untitarian chuch which was so much fun.  The band called, The Northeast Corridor was terriffic and had the house rockin’!  Earlier in the day we headed to the mall to be part of the celebration at the Lincoln Memorial.  Needless to say we didn’t get close to the event, truth be told, we couldn’t even get near a jumbotron but could hear Bono, Bruce and the many other mucsians that took part.

Monday we walked all around town and got a close up look at the Capitol where the swearing in would take place, the parade route and the viewing stand in front of the White House where the Obama’s would watch the festivities.  We knew there would be no way to see these areas on Tuesday.  Our next stop was the Vietnam War Memorial that my friend Lynn had never seen.  Visiting this monument is always so moving and there were thousands of people walking that wall which starts very low with that single name and then grows to well over your head with the tens of thousands of names and then lowering again to a single name.  Very powerful.   We then headed to the Corcoran to see the Avedon exhibit but were disappointed to see that there was a private party going on which for some reason did not have our names on the guest list…I wonder what happened!

On Tuesday we had tickets to a breakfast hosted by the American Music Association were we would watch the swearing in with a group of people.  When we got to the Marriott, the breakfast had been cancelled!  It was too late to head for the Mall since they had already started to turn people away because of the capacity limit by 9 am.  We went back to our friend’s home and watched the swearing in there and then took off to the Mall.  We attended a reception at the Rayburn Office Building hosted by a NY congressman after the swearing in and then just walked around catching a bit of the parade and just taking it all in.

We ended the night with a great meal in Chinatown and a late night drive all over Washington checking out all of the ball venues and the beautiful city of Washington at night on this most historic night.  A wonderful 3 days!  Thanks to our hosts Susan and Mark.  Your home is beautiful and your hospitality overwhelming.  Thanks to our friends Stasia and Anne Marie for the loan of toasty fur lined boots to keep our feet warm…oh did I mention it was freezing all three days!

Here are a few images for now of the sites seen from Sunday thru Tuesday.  More to come on my Flickr account.

DC or Bust!

My friend Lynn and I are heading to DC tonight for the Inaugural!  We are staying with our good friends Mark and Susan who live right in DC and thankfully in a location that makes walking everywhere possible since that is pretty much your only chance at getting around.  I am so excited to be in our nation’s Capitol during this exciting historic week.

We are going to a ball at the historic All Souls Unitarian Church on Sunday night thanks to an invitation from my friends and church members Cait and Neil.  On Monday we are just going to walk around and take it all in.  Although there are some great exhibits going on in the many museums, I am sure there will be large crowds everywhere and may not be the best time for a visit.  On Tuesday we have been invited to view the swearing in from the warm comforts of the Rayburn Office Building which we are still pinching ourselves over!!!  We really lucked out!  Thanks to our host with connections!

I hope to have photos to share with you on my return!  Wish us luck!  I think with the amount of people who are supposed to show up, we will need your good wishes!

Sneak Peek ~ Little Miss S’s First Year – The Beginning

This beautiful little bundle belongs to dear friends of mine.  I have been waiting to meet her for a long time and today I went to Brooklyn for my first intoduction.  She is such a sweet baby with adoring parents and grandparets and many doting aunts and uncles.  Oh…and let me not forget her 4 legged brother Stax who we will certainly see in future images!

Miss S is only 9 days old today but stayed awake most of the time I was there which was about 3 hours!  She is the most alert totally tuned in 9 day old I have ever met!  Of course she is brilliant!  I have so have fallen in love with her!

Miss S will be a personal project of mine and so we will see S once an month and will watch her grow in her first year.  I am looking forward to the journey.

Sneak Peek ~ Cousins Revisited

This is my second time working with these little beauties.  We wanted to get a fabulous photo of the four cousins for their grandmother.  When working with two 2 year olds and two babies under 1 year, let’s just say, they call the shots!  We still didn’t get the “perfect” group shot but we did get wonderful individual images and the group shot is just like my tag line says…life as it happens!  This time we did get everyone in the same place.  Progress!

Sneak Peek ~ Welcome to the world little M

I love everything about newborn babies.  I love the way they look, the way they smell…yes the way they smell, their little tiny fingers and toes, and the way they look when they sleep.  They are so peacful, until of course it is time to eat!  Little M was such a little muffin.  Love Love Love!

Sneak Peek ~ Miss G at 9mths

Boy do I have some blogging to catch up on!  My New Year’s resolution is to post at least twice a week.  So that I don’t blow it the first week I will catch up on the sessions done towards the end of Decmeber that never made it up in all the holiday craziness at the office.

What better way to start than with our Miss G!  Miss G is one of my “Year One” babies and documenting her fist year has been a joy!  She is now 9mths and I think she could be walking on her own before her fist birthday.  She is already pushing her baby’s stoller and gets around quite well.

This was G’s “pointing” session.  G pointed to everything!  So darn cute.   G’s four legged cousins were staying with her while their parents were in Europe.  Loved getting a few shots of them.  Babies and dogs, what could be better!  Looking forward to seeing you Miss G for your 1st birthday.  Boy did this year fly by!
